Hemoglobin: total amount of hemoglobin in a volume of blood (measure of oxygen carrying capacity of blood)

* Hemoglobin and hematocrit offer equivalent information and are interchangeable



 

Red Blood Cell Distribution Width: meansure of the variability of MCV distributions

Mean Cell Volume = HCT/RBC

Mean Cell Hemoglobin Concentration = HGB/HCT

Mean Cell Hemoglobin = HGB/RBC
